Excellent value for a fine place to stay! - Excellent value for a fine place to stay! MANY positive aspects, including sharing facilities with the very good Sandbar restaurant. But most impressive was the staff; all, without exception,... read more were extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. I WOULD ASSUREDLY STAY HERE AGAIN.
2023/01/29We stayed in a double room on the street side of the property. I was expecting lots of street noise, but was quiet in the evenings after 8pm till morning... read more when people started going to work, even then didn't find it interfered with rest or sleep. The room was more than adequate for us, the double bed was comfortable, the A/C unit worked good. Bathroom was good, lots of hot water for showers and water pressure was good, the sink to wash was not in the bathroom, but in the bedroom area as part of the dresser and vanity, which kinda threw us off, but we made it work. We didn't use the kitchen area or common area much but it was good for economic travelers. From the east side you enter the Sandbar restaurant & hotel, which served good food, as well had access to the beach. The Sandbar also allowed Drift Inn guests to use their pool (but the beach was just a few steps away). Also it seemed much closer to walk down the beach rather then through town to get to the hotel through the Sandbar. If you want maid service to clean the room just ask at the desk, they didn't charge us for it. This is not the Hilton, but we didn't pay Hilton prices, it is for economic travelers, we are both in our 60's we felt safe and secure and treated with respect. We stayed for 6 nites, nothing but good to say about our stay the staff were friendly and helpful we would go back in a heartbeat. Also the Kmart store is around the corner to pick up supplies (beer) and check out the Pallapa Restaurant over the water right in front.

The hotel and staff were absolutely perfect. Hailey and Stefanie were very friendly and took great care of us. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and cool and the warm showers felt spectacular. There is a very chill vibe around the hotel, the pizza parlor, and the bar out front which makes it easy to relax and make friends.
From this location it’s so easy to get to anything you could want, the beautiful beach, a brunch, morning coffee, or a divine dinner experience.
I took a picture of my footprint in the sand and realized that it would soon be washed over by the wind and waves. Don’t wait until it’s too late to leave your footprints there. I’ll be leaving mine again soon! 10/10 highly recommend!

Drift Inn: Best value stay in San Pedro - A simple stay that is the best value in San Pedro. Super friendly staff. They helped us plan out our adventures. It shares a nice pool and dock with Sandbar(that... read more serves a KILLER key lime pie). The room was barebones, but I would stay there again in a heartbeat. They have a shared kitchen on site if you want to make your own grub, but with the amount of amaaaazing street foodyou’d truly be missing out. The only cons I have about the place are that the mattress was not comfortable(but on par with the value of the hotel) and there are roosters that live next door(bring ear plugs if you like sleeping past 5am) with ear plugs it wasn’t a big deal and the Drift Inn was a great place to crash in between our adventures in San Pedro. Thank you!
2023/01/21Was the best it could be - I don’t think I would come back to San Pedro but at no fault of the Drift Inn. They were fantastic. Staff was incredibly friendly and more than happy to... read more help with literally anything. We got a private room (was on the street side which was the less desired side but still worked out well). I loved sitting in the courtyard by the pool! It was so quiet, peaceful, and a great place to chat with others staying here if you wanted. The cats are everywhere and very friendly. There were a few times where I went to the lobby to get water and a cat or two would follow me back and try to sneak in. The bed was ok, not the most comfortable but for the price I can’t complain much at all. Having our own fridge was nice because we could fill up our water bottles the night before and have cold water for the next day. The separate bathroom and shower was nice as well (big). The main reason I wouldn’t go back would be the sargassum. There are certain times of the year what it is apparently not as bad, so definitely look into when is a better time to go. It is essentially decomposing seaweed that has washed up on shore. It’s a relatively new problem due to global warming and fertilizers getting into the ocean. The smell was horrendous. We tried to walk back along the beach from snorkeling (we didn’t feel super safe walking around the streets at dusk or later) and we had to cover our face with our towels and we were still gagging. If you plan on going to San Pedro, I would definitely recommend staying here. It was wonderful and so affordable and the reasons we wouldn’t come back are not their fault at all. I hope Belize can figure out how to solve the sargassum issue.

Disliked · Somebody needs to eat the roosters next door. 😉
Would be nice to have a sink in the room with the toilet in the dorm room to wash your hands.
