12/29/2019I personally like private rooms with a hostel feel and Drift Inn fit everything I wanted. The staff is great and they helped me with directions and had a golf cart delivered to me at the hotel. The room was clean and the water was hot. Out front there are multiple areas to sit, relax and meet other travelers. They did an amazing job of getting everyone together and organizing events so you won’t be alone...unless you want to be.

My wife and I live 8 miles north of San Pedro on Ambergris Caye in Belize. When we go into town for a night out we stay at Drift Inn.... read more The rooms have everything we need - comfortable bed, air conditioning, mini fridge, coffee bar, access to microwave and toaster oven, comfortable seating area, access to all Sandbar amenities including soaking pool, restaurant and bar, beach access with dock etc. Great central location with other restaurants within walking distance. Other things close by - Dr. Dan’s office, Caye Mart grocery store, various dive shops, jet ski rental, etc. You can spend a lot more and not get all this for a very reasonable price. Hailey runs a great business and is always offering specials so just give her a call and tell her you read Tim’s review on Trip Advisor. I don’t have any deal with Hailey I’m just a local resident who uses her place as my go to “home away from home” I couldn’t be happier with her accommodations! More

From the time I stepped onto the property until after we both left, the staff here treated us like family. Hailey, one of the owners, helped connect me with the dive shop located literally right behind the hotel (Chuck and Robbie’s - which I later learned is the best outfit around) for my advanced certification. Stephanie made sure we had everything we needed during the stay, even after I accidentally poured a whole pineapple drink on the hotel laptop and crashed it! Mike and Eldon are awesome souls to hang out with in the evening and spend their days making sure the property is pristine.
Donna, the other owner, even invited us to her inland camp to spend a few days after check-out. Wish we could have indulged, but Christmas and family obligations didn’t afford a travel extension. The hotel made a great home-base to explore pretty much everything the area has to offer. Location was perfect. Most attractions in San Pedro are an easy walk, and the ferry to other areas such as Caye Caulker, is a few hundred yards south along the beach.
Golf cart rentals are available from a grocery just up the street as well as several other places. We arranged one at the airport from Mike’s Golf Cart Rental, and were not disappointed. You’ll need one at some point to get out to Secret Beach and explore other parts of the island, but there were days when we didn't use ours at all. Would probably rent one ad-hoc next time rather than for the whole trip.
One final point worth mentioning – I’m a US citizen, and I was initially concerned about travelling during a pandemic. Navigating the Belizean entry requirements was a walk in the park; the hotel made sure we knew exactly what preparations to make, and when. I felt safer from COVID in the busiest areas I visited in Belize than I do walking down the emptiest streets through my suburban neighborhood back home.
Wear a mask; wash your hands. Buy some beer to enjoy in the courtyard with staff and other guests after curfew - if one is in effect. After a full day of tropical adventures, it probably won’t take many before you’re off to sleep in preparation for the next day anyway. Travelling to Belize right now is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The crowds are thin, the service is awesome, and the businesses are grateful for your presence. I'm strongly considering taking this place up on its monthly special for travelers working remotely. More

Been visiting San Pedro over the Xmas holidays for a couple years now, stayed in many different places around the island but Drift Inn is the best place to stay... read more for a couple reasons...
Location: exactly where you want to be. Beach, bars, shops, everything is walking distance. 5 min out of center of town so not to busy or noisy.
Accommodations: Clean, Air conditioned rooms, spacious. The room I stayed in had a full kitchen and all appliances were new 🙂
Staff: the reason I would come back. Always greet you with a smile and offer to help. For example I was running late for my flight home and Hailey offered to drive me in her golf cart. she is the best! thanks again Hailey! More

The location was perfect, walkable from the water taxi terminals though golf cart rentals were plentiful nearby. A tall hutch to hang clothes which also included a warm blanket which was nice since this room had phenomenal air conditioning. The bathroom was also spacious and the water pressure was awesome, as well as the temperature. There was a shared patio space with a few chairs and not much of a view of the island, but overlooked the amenities of the courtyard and small pool below. The walls were thin so you could hear your neighbors but no one was too rowdy and the shared spaces in the courtyard were nice if you wanted a change of scenery from hanging out in your room. They were doing some kind of repair nearby and a yappy dog made for a bit of morning noise but not a huge deal. I was given a bracelet which allowed for discounts at certain places which was a great and unexpected touch. I was also provided with a binder full of information for my stay. Sandbar had great drinks and a late-night menu and I got to talk to some really cool guests and the bartender was awesome. They have a dock area across a sandy path equipped with chairs and tubes to float in, which was great to hang out and watch the water. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the perfect place for my short stay in San Pedro. I will definitely be back so that I can explore more and take advantage of all of these great amenities. 2/05/2021I stayed in the female dorm at Drift Inn for 5 nights.
Accommodation: The beds are comfortable, but get quite warm and noisy with the plastic mattress cover.... read more The toilets and showers are cleaned daily, but the shower curtain is short, so water would often flood the hallway, making the floor slippery. There are lockers in the dorm, but they are small, so it can get messy with everyone's stuff lying around. Most people were tidy though.
Staff: All of the staff were really nice and helpful, but I didn't feel that Hailey (the owner) was very helpful or professional when asked questions. Another guest was locked out of the building because Hailey forgot to give her the code when she checked in. I was checked in by a staff member who was much more through and professional.
Environment: The hostel is busy with guests, who are generally really nice. The kitchen is small, but serves coffee in the morning and filtered water all day.
Overall a great stay! More
